6.  CHARLES6 MINER (JOSEPH NICHOLAS5, CHARLES4 MONAL, LOUIS ALEXANDER MONAL3 JOLICOEUR, ANGELIQUE2 VIAU, LAURENT VIAU1 LESPERANCE, MICHEL VIAUA, JACQUES VIAUB, JULIENC VIAU) was born 13 Nov 1832 in Quebec, Canada30, and died 05 Jan 1911 in Saranac, Clinton, NY31.  He married ANGELIQUE PIOSSON 03 Jul 1853 in Keeseville, Essex, NY32, daughter of JOSEPH POISSON and JULIA.  She was born Dec 1837 in Canada French33.  In the IGI he is listed as Charles Jolicoeur with the entire family listed as Jolicoeur or Miner. He was enumerated consistently as Charles Miner/Minor in Saranac, Clinton, NY where the post office is given as Redford. He was a blacksmith, could not read or write and was a citizen in 1870. His marriage record was as Mino and Harriet Mino was a witness. Burial: 07 Jan 1911, Redford, Clinton, NY34.  ANGELIQUE PIOSSON was consistently enumerated as Julia, but she was clearly the same as Angelique. Her mother was likely also Julia. Fish is the English translation of the French name.

Children of CHARLES MINER and ANGELIQUE PIOSSON are:

                   i.    CHARLES ISRAEL7 MINER, b. 21 Jul 1858, Keeseville, Essex, NY35.  Baptism: 25 Jul 1858, Keeseville, Essex, NY36

ix.    EUGENE MINER, b. Feb 1879, New York45.

7.  HARRIET6 MINER (JOSEPH NICHOLAS5, CHARLES4 MONAL, LOUIS ALEXANDER MONAL3 JOLICOEUR, ANGELIQUE2 VIAU, LAURENT VIAU1 LESPERANCE, MICHEL VIAUA, JACQUES VIAUB, JULIENC VIAU) was born 01 Jan 1837 in Canada46, and died 17 Mar 1922 in Cohoes, Albany, NY46. She married JOHN LARMORE Abt. 1853 in Ausable, Clinton, NY47, son of MR. LARMORE and ADELINE. He was born 1832 in Clinton County, New York48, and died 02 Feb 1896 in Chesterfield, Essex, NY48. Most descendants of this couple report Native American ancestry which does not appear to be on Harriet Miner’s side, so is likely on the Larmore side of the family. Other Miner descendants do not report Native ancestry.  In 1900 Hattie was enumerated in Cohoes, Albany, NY. She had fourteen children, only 10 were living then. She resided with her son Ovila who was widowed and had a son who was born in Jun of 1898 named Mable? She stated she came to the US in 1839. In 1910 she was still in Cohoes with her daughter Elmira and her husband John Blair. Also with them was Emma, likely the daughter of John Edmund Lamore. Hattie then had nine of her fourteen children living; it was perhaps John Edmund who had died.

The first sign of John "Larman" is in 1850 when he was working as a laborer in the family of Peter Cooley laborer, (b. ca 1812 in Canada} in Williston, Chittenden County, Vermont. Also living in the household was Joseph (laborer, b. ca 1802 in Canada) and Adeline (b. ca 1800 in Canada) Gilbert. Louisa Gilbert b. 1839 in Vermont was enumerated in the household of Alva Gilbert in Fairfield, Franklin, VT; could she be the one who became Louisa Chebo and lived with Adeline Gilbert in 1870?

John "La More" was enumerated in Ausable, Clinton, NY in 1860 as a collier (coal miner) with wife Harriet and their three oldest children. Joseph Gilbare aged 69 b. in Canada and his apparent wife Adeline aged 67 also b. in Canada were living in the home of John and Harriet, relationship unknown.

In 1870 John "Larramore" was a laborer in Blackbrook, Clinton, NY where he resided beside Harriet's father and brother.  Adeline Gilbert was 83, enumerated in Jay in the household of Louisa Chebo (likely Chebot?) aged 64, born in Canada

In 1875 the "Larramore" family was enumerated in Elizabethtown beside the Erastus Lobdell farm where John was listed as a farm laborer. John "Larramay" was enumerated a farmer in 1880 in Elizabethtown and both his parents were b. in Canada. Edmund "Larramore" was enumerated a farmer two pages back, aged 25, b. in NY father b. in NY mother b. in Canada. Edmund married Ellen who was 21 in 1880, per the census.

The 1892 census of Essex County did not show John and Hattie in the towns of Elizabethtown, Jay, Essex, Moriah, or Crownpoint. Edward and Ellen were found in Moriah that year as was John and Hattie with their children who remained at home. No, John and Hattie are in North Hudson, Essex, NY in Feb 1892, no place of birth for John, and a girl named Hattie aged 9 living in the home.

iii.    DENNIS LARMORE, b. Abt. 1859, New York52.  He is likely the Dennis Larmore who was enumerated in Northumberland Town, Saratoga, NY in 1920 where he was living alone, though his marital status was married. He was a general laborer, aged 56 born in New York, his father was born in Canada French and his mother was born in the US.

He was in Company A for at least part of the time and mustered out on 6 Feb 1866 at City Point, VA. John’s children were buried in Moriah. He was enumerated as Edmund Larramore in Elizabethtown, Essex, NY in 1880 with wife Ellen and Frances Duclos living in the household. In Feb 1892 they were enumerated in Moriah. The scan is poor so a check of the original will show who the last entries were on the census page. He may be the John Larmore who was a border in Hampton, Washington, NY in 1920 and was enumerated a lumberman working in the woods who was a 56 year old widow born in New York, both parents listed as being born in France haven spoken French.

Children of JOHN LARMORE and HELLEN DUCLOS are:

10.  LOUIS7 LARMORE (HARRIET6 MINER, JOSEPH NICHOLAS5, CHARLES4 MONAL, LOUIS ALEXANDER MONAL3 JOLICOEUR, ANGELIQUE2 VIAU, LAURENT VIAU1 LESPERANCE, MICHEL VIAUA, JACQUES VIAUB, JULIENC VIAU) was born Dec 1863 in Willsborough, Essex, New York79.  He married (1) SOPHIA MONTOUR Abt. 1886 in New York80, daughter of JOSEPH MONTOUR and MARY SURPRISE.  She was born 05 Aug 1870 in Ticonderoga, New York81, and died 28 Jun 1905 in Winchendon, Worcester, MA82.  He married (2) MARY Bet. 1905 - 1910 in Prob NY83.  She was born Abt. 1866 in Canada French84.  Lewis and Sophia registered the birth of a boy and girl in 1888 and 1890 in Mineville, NY. Louis was in Winchendon, MA in 1893 for the birth of Arthur. (George W. and Winnie M. (Cox) Lamore died in that town in 1893 (MAVR vol 483:818, 819) and Eva Lamore died in 1899 (494:480) and should be checked. Winnie may be the Winifred that was in Moriah, NY with George W. registering the death of daughter Mary in 1893.) Louis was working as a rail road section hand in Ashburnham, Worcester, MA in 1900.  He was enumerated in Cohoes, Albany NY in 1910 with his second wife Mary and a daughter aged 8 named Albrina. In 1930 they were living in Oneonta, Otsego, NY which is likely where Meryl was reporting him to be buried.

Merle Draper, son of Rose Larmore reported that his grandfather, Lewis Larmore is father to Merle's mother Rose.  He says that Mr. Larmore is buried in Oneida?, NY. He knew he had an uncle named Napoleon Surprise who was reportedly Native American.      MARY reported her year of immigration as 1867 on the 1920 Census.

Children of LOUIS LARMORE and SOPHIA MONTOUR are:

                   i.    ROSE MAY8 LARMORE, b. Mar 1887, Moriah, Essex, NY85; m. FRED S. DRAPER, 1904, Winchendon, MA86; b. Rose was a niece of Mary Agnes Lamore. In 1910 Inez E. Cooper was living in her household listed as a sister, aged 18 single, born in Massachusetts, both parents born in New York.

They would come to the camp that the Day's built every weekend. Sidney Blanchard remembers them fondly as very dear straight folks.

Charles was a machinist, enumerated with his wife and children in Kearney, Hudson, NJ in 1900 when they lived on Forrest St. indexed as "Lerusom." Charles left his wife in New Jersey and went allegedly to Tennessee with a baby sitter ca 1904-1914. Thirty five years later he appeared on the doorstep of his adopted daughter Beatrice Larmore (his niece) unaware that his wife had died. She was very angry with him and told him to leave and never return to this family, which he did according to Beatrice's daughter Alice. Adomonin's wife reported that her husband got a call about 1936 from Tennessee that Charles had died. He went with his sister to see about it, but they were never able to locate anything. His son Lawrence recalls Adomonin stopping at cemeteries whenever they were in upper state New York and cruising through, he supposed looking for his father's gravestone. Charles perhaps died in Sep 1935 according to his daughter Naomi. He sure looks like the Charles Lamroy who was enumerated a hired man living on the farm of Levi Clough in Washington, Orange, VT in 1930 aged 64, reported himself widowed born in New York, father birth place unknown in US, mother's place of birth Canada East (French).
