Michelle Ouinville
c. 1647 - 1700


Michelle Ouinville was born about 1647 in the parish of Saint-Paul in Paris, the daughter of Pierre Ouinville and Antoinette Bonnard. After losing her parents, Michelle left for Canada in 1668 at about age 21, taking her goods worth an estimated 400 livres for her dowry. On 21 Oct 1668, notary Ameau drew up a marriage contract between Michelle and Nicolas Barabe at Trois-Rivieres. Nicolas was born about 1647 in Quincampoix (arrondissement and archdiocese of Rouen), Normandy, the son of Robert Barabe and Marie Tarou. They settled in Trois Rivieres and had five children. Nicolas died between 5 May and 23 Aug 1676.

On 12 April 1677, notary Adhemar drew up a marriage contract between Michelle and Michel Lemay dit Le Poudrier in the home of Denis Brosseau at Batiscan. Michel was born about 1630 in Chesnehutte-les-Tuffeaux (arrondissement of Saumar, diocese of Angers) Anjou, son of Francois Lemay and Marie Gaschet. They had two children. Michel died in 1684.

On 5 Nov 1685 ! Michelle entered into a marriage contract with Louis Montenu, drawn by notary Duquet. Louis was born 1651 in LaRochelle, the son of Jacques Montenu and Suzanne Arriere. Michelle and Louis had no children together.

Michelle died 20 Nov 1700 at the Hotel-Dieu-de-Quebec. Louis died at Lotbiniere on 10 Mar 1724 and was buried the 19th.
