Dear Mom,

It was a joyful event on Saturday morning, at 11 o'clock, to see you go to your reward in heaven so peacefully. We had been praying to Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, our father Jean-Baptiste Léveillée and St. Jude to come and take you by the hand to bring you back to your Creator.

After a long life of giving to others: your husband, your two children and their mates, your four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and to all others with whom you came into contact, you finally will receive your reward - an eternal life in the continuing presence of God.

After 35 years of separation from your husband, Jean-Baptiste, you have finally been reunited with him. You have been waiting for this event since 1965. Right now, you are in his presence and both of you are looking down at us. We are happy for you that the end of your earthly life is the beginning of your eternal life.

Mother Theresa's words are so true:

Death, in the final analysis, is only the easiest and quickest means to go back to God. If only we could make people understand that we come from God and that we have to go back to Him! Going back to Him is going back home.

You are back home, Mom. We were happy for you when we said goodbye to you last Saturday, because we knew that you would be very happy at this moment in heaven. Watch over us for the rest of our earthly lives. We will come join you some day.

A Dieu, maman. Nous nous recontrerons un jour au ciel!
