** "MONTOUR" dit name was taken by most of the Couc siblings and their spouses in memory Louis Couc dit Montour after his assassination, this was a native custom to take the name of a deceased that was highly respected... most of the Montour today are descendants of his sisters rather than thru his direct male line...
