6846. Zacharie CLOUTIER was born in 1590. He was a carpenter from Saint-Jean Baptiste de Mortagne in Perche, France. He married Xaintes DUPONT on 18 Jul 1616 in France. On 14 Mar 1634, Robert GIFFARD hired Zacharie and Jean Guyon, and their eldest sons, to clear the land of his fied in Beauport. They were promised a sub-fied of 1,000 arpents, which they began to clear and to build their joint residence on the Beauport domain. Their families arrived in 1635. There was a dispute between Robert GIFFARD and Zacharie and Jean over the payment of a tax on their land. Zacharie finally settled in Beaupré, after selling the Cloutier fied to Nicolas DUPONT on 20 Dec 1670. He died on 17 Sep 1677 at Château-Richer. (1)(7)

He married Madeleine ÉMARD, daughter of Jean ÉMARD & Marie BINEAU, on 4 April 1648 at St.Barthelemi, Larochelle, Aunis(ibid.). He died on 3 February 1708 at Château-Richer, Québec, at age 90. He was buried on 4 February 1708 at Château-Richer, Québec. (3)
