The names of François BÉLANGER and Marie GAGNON (GUYON) are inscribed on a plaque on the Louis Hébert monument in Parc Montmorency, Québec.

Historical notes on François.

1705. Marie GUYON was baptized 18 Mar 1624 in St-Jean de Mortagne, Perche, France. Québec Census of 1666 gave her age as 40, which would mean a 1626 birthday. She was buried 1 Sep 1696 in Cap St-Ignace. She was also known as Marie DION. Sister Barbe GUYON (DION) married Pierre PARADIS.

i. Charles BÉLANGER was baptized 19 Aug 1640 in Québec, married Barbe CLOUTIER 21 Nov 1663 at Château-Richer and died 14 Dec and was buried 15 Dec 1692 at Château-Richer.

vi. Mathurine BÉLANGER was baptized on 11 Jun 1652 in Québec. Her first marriage was to Jean MAHEU on 18 Sep 1673 in Château-Richer. Her second marriage was to Antoine DE SERRE 2 Oct 1674 in Château-Richer; third marriage to François GRÉGOIRE 26 Apr 1688 in Pointe-aux-Trembles of Québec. She was buried 18 Jan 1698 in Neuville. Please note: Nicolas Bélanger is often included in the family of François Bélanger & Marie Guyon. Tanguay (1) and Gérard (2) list Nicolas as being born around 1633 and the son of François Bélanger & Marie Guyon. According to Drouin (3) and PRDH (4), he is not the son of François Bélanger & Marie Guyon. Nicolas and François were cousins from the same parish of St-Thomas de Touques. (NAL)
