Morin Ancestral Lineage


Pierre Morin dit Boucher was born around 1616 ikely in the Coulonges-les-Royaux, Niort, Deux-Sevres, Poitou-Charentes Region in the town of Coulonges-sur-l'Autise or Aulnay-de-Saintonge of France. Information suggests Pierre was hired as a saddlemaker at La Rochelle on 7 April 1642 by William Desjardins for Charles de St-Etienne de LaTour and set sail for Rivière St-Jean, Bay of Fundy Acadie aboard Le Saint Clément captained by J. Descombes. These early migrations were driven by the need for skilled labor in New France so a saddlemaker would have helped fill that need.
He married Marie Madeleine Martin, daughter of Pierre Martin & Catherine Vigneault before 31 December 1661 in Port Royal, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. Marie was born about 1641 in Port-Royal, Nova Scotia. Pierre Morin dit Boucher remained in Port Royal at least until 1671 as documented in the 1671 Census of Port Royal. In 1680 they moved to Beaubassin. In the spring of 1688 they were forced to leave this territory and settled in Restigouche, at the end of Baie-des-Chaleurs, where he died in 1690 and was buried in St. Thomas, Montmagny, Quebec, Canada. Marie Madeleine Martin died on 16 and was buried on 17 September 1714 in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. (1)(2)(3)

They had 12 children: Pierre Morin Boucher (b.1662), Louis Morin (b.1664), Antoine Morin (b.1666), Marie Anne Morin (b.1668), Anne Morin (b.Jan 1671), Jacques Morin (b. 2/03/1672), Charles Sride Cloridan Morin (b.1674), Marie Marguerite Morin (b.1676), Jean-Marie Morin (b. 10/08/1680), Jacques-Francois Morin (b. 23/09/1682), Simon Joseph Morin (b. 08/01/1685), Jacques Morin (b. 02/03/1686).
Marie Marguerite Morin was born in 1676. She married Claude Boissel, son of Noël Boissel & Marie Morin, on 8 August 1694 somewhere in Québec. She died on 26 and was buried on 27 January 1718 in Québec. Claude died and buried on 15 December 1716 in Québec. (2)(3)


Pierre Morin was born in 1662 in Port Royal, Richmond, Acadie, Nova Scotia, Canada and was baptized in 1662 in Port Royal, Annapolis, Nova Scotia, Canada. He married Françoise LaVallée Chiasson (b. 1668), daughter of Guyon CHIASSON dit LAVALLÉE & Jeanne BERNARD, on 8 November 1682 in Beaubassin, Yarn, Nova Scotia, Canada, age 20. They lived in St-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, QC, Canada. Françoise died before 17 October 1734. Pierre Morin died on 14 April 1741 in Ristigouche Qc Canada, Canada, age 79. He was buried on 15 April 1741 in St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Montmagny, Québec, Canada.

They had 11 children: Pierre Morin (b. 23.12.1683), Barbe Morin (b.1685), Marie Morin (b.1688), Sebastien Morin (b.1691), Denis Morin (b.07.08.1694), Agathe Morin (b.31.03.1697), Michel Morin (b.1698), Jean Morin (b.22.04.1702), Antoine Morin (b.06.10.1704), Charles Morin (b.16.01.1707) and Marie Françoise Morin (b.19.05.1709). Michel Morin was born in 1698. He died and was buried on 20 June 1767 in la Rivière-du-Loup , Kamouraska, Québec. (3)


Pierre Morin was born in Beaubassin, Acadia, Québec on 23 December 1683 and was baptized on the same day in St. Thomas-De-La-Pointe-à-La-Caille, Montmagny, Québec. He married Marie Françoise Boulet Boulé (b. 1687) on 10 January 1707 in St-Thomas-de-Montmagny, Québec, Canada, age 22. Pierre died on 4 and was buried on 5 February 1767 in St-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud Co. Montmagny, Québec. Marie François died and was buried on 20 March 1764 in St-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud Co. Montmagny, Québec.

François Morin was born around 1727 in Québec somewhere. He first married Dorothée Malboeuf (b.07.01.1731)on 5 November 1749 in Château-Richer, Montmorency, Québec, Canada, age 24. Dorothée was buried on 9 August 1752 in St-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud. Her parents were Joseph Malboeuf and Marie Madeleine Gagné.
They had 2 children: Marie Morin (b.1748) and Marie Françoise Morin (b.27.11.1750). (2)
He then married Marie Élisaeth Brideau (b. 1723) on 30 July 1753 in St-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Montmagny, Québec, Canada, age 28. Marie Élisabeth died on 6 and was buried on 8 September 1754 in Pointe-de-Lévy (Lauzon). Her parents were Jean Hilaire Brideau and Marie Josephe Paquet. (2)
His third marriage was to Marie Geneviève Langelier (b.02.07.1763) on 5 August 1755 in Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Québec, age 30. Marie Geneviève died on 1 and was buried on 2 July 1763 in Pointe-de-Lévy (Lauzon). Her parents were François Langelier and Marie Angélique Bilodeau. (2)
They had 2 children: François Morin (b.1762) and Joseph Morin (m. 1787).

His fourth marriage was to Félicite Plante on 12 November 1764 in St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, age 39. Félicite was baptized on 23 May 1734 in St-Jean, Île-d'Orléans. She died on 8 and was buried on 9 January 1815 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon, at age 75. Her parents were Charles Plante and Marie Madeleine Avare. (2)(3)

They had eight children: François Morin (born on 24 & baptized on 25 August 1765 & m. 12 Dec 1787), Félicite (b. 6 Sept 1766), Cécile Morin (b. 12 Dec 1767 & m. 7 Jan 1788), Marie Anne Morin (b. 11 Nov 1769 & m. 24 Nov 1794), Louise (b. 15 Feb1771), Pierre Noël Morin(b. 1 Sept 1772), Louis (b. 3 Dec 1774 & d. 27 Apr 1776), Henri Morin (b. 1774 & m. 28 Jan 1799).(1)(2)
François died on 25 and was buried on 27 May 1805 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon, Québec, at age 78.

Pierre Noël Morin was born on 1 and baptized 20 September 1772 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon, Québec, Canada. He first married Marie Quemeneur Laflamme, daughter of Joseph Marie Quemeneur Laflamme & Marie Thérèse Baudoin, on 7 February 1800 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon, Lévis, Québec. Marie was born on 10 July 1783 in St-Henri-de-Lévis. She died on 20 August 1802 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon. They had one daughter, Marie François Morin who was born on 19 July 1802 in St-Henri-de-Lauzon. Upon her death, Pierre Noël then married Marie Louise Pilotte on 22 October 1805 in St-Michel-de-Bellechasse, La Durantaye, Québec, age 30. Marie Louise, daughter of Augustin Pilotte & Marguerite Bolduc, was born on 15 November 1767 in St-Michel-de-Bellechase, La Durantaye, Québec. She died on 6 February 1835 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, Québec. Pierre Noël died on 20 April 1839 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, Québec. (2)(3)

Pierre Noël Morin was born about 1805 in St-Michel-de-Bellechasse (La Durantaye), Québec, Canada. He first married Constance Tremblay, daughter of Charles Tremblay & Marie Côté on 5 March 1836 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, QC, Canada, age 31. Constance was born on 17 September 1811 in St-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon. She died on 12 December 1845 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis. Québec. They had three children: Charles Morin was born on 30 January 1837 and died on 12 July 1837. Pierre Morin was born on 3 June 1838. Ambroise Morin was born on 29 April 1840 and died on 13 October 1841; all in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, Québec.

He then married Marie Magdeleine Cantin, daughter of Louis Cantin & Marie Magdeleine Langlois, on 4 July 1848 in St-Joseph-de-la-Pointe de Lévis, Québec, Canada, age 43. Marie Magdeleine was born on 14 December 1823 at St-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-de-Levy, Lauzon, Québec. Pierre Noël died on 9 September 1873 in St-Romuald d'Etchemin, Québec. Marie Cantin died in Muskegon, Michigan, on 13 February 1912 and buried in St. Mary's cemetery in Muskegon. (2)

He married Marie Célestine RAYMOND on 22 June 1875 in St-Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. Marie Célestine was born on 25 May 1856 and she died on 6 November 1885. (1)(4)

i. Pierre MORIN was baptized on 20 August 1849 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, Québec. (4)
ii. Joseph MORIN was born about 1850 and died after 1871. (5)
iv. Marie MORIN was born about 1856 and ws buried on 8 July 1876 in St-Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. She married Louis L'HEBREUX on 22 June 1875 in St Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. Louis was born before 1855 and died after 1876. Louis was at majority age at his marriage. (4)
v. Flavie Flore MORIN was baptized on 12 January 1857 in Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire, Lévis, Québec. She died about 1909 in Muskegon, Michigan. She married Jean Baptiste BERNIER on 28 July 1874 in St Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. Jean Baptiste was born about 1853 and died on 14 March 1924 in Muskegon, Michigan. (4)

viii. Zoé MORIN was baptized on 22 December 1865 in St-Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. She died on 13 August 1930 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois and was buried St Mary's Cemetery, Muskegon, Michigan. She married Séraphin BROCHU on 10 July 1882 in St-Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec. Séraphin was born about 1861 and died on 9 February 1908 in Muskegon, Michigan. (3)(4)(5)


Jean-Baptiste Elzéar Morin was born and baptized on 29 April 1853 in St-Jean Chrysostome, Lévis, Québec, Canada. He married Marie Célestine Raymond on 22 June 1875 in St. Romuald d'Etchemin, Lévis, Québec, Canada, age 22. Marie Célestine was born on 25 May 1856 and she died on 6 November 1885. Jean-Baptiste died and was buried on 2 May 1921 in Muskegon, MI, USA. (1)
They had 6 children : Louis Morin, John Morin, George Morin, Marie Ernestine Morin (b.21.04.1876), Joseph Earnest Morin (b.20.05.1877) and Joseph Henry Morin (b.15.12.1884).
Jean-Baptiste married a second time to Délina Adèle Raymond Bouchard Morin (b. 16/06/1859).
They had 10 children: Mrs. C. C. Love, Louise Morin, Mrs. A. Grendziak, Rose Valyia, Mrs. Prins, Mrs. Oscar Crevier, Mrs. George Dorval, Mrs. Charles Chasteen, Mrs. Harry Collins and Irene Morin Betts (b. 07.12.1898). (1)

He married Marie Alphonsine Mailhot on 4 June 1908 in Muskegon, MI, USA, age 23. Joseph died on 30 March 1968 in Memphis, TN, USA and was buried in St.Mary's Cemetery, Muskegon, MI. USA. Marie Alphonsine was born on 9 October 1887 in Muskegon, MI, daughter of Ludgar Mailhot dit Volche and Grazella Lambert. She died on 18 August 1958 and was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Muskegon, MI, USA. Joseph Henry died on 30 March 1968 in Memphis TN and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Muskegon, MI. USA.
